Ayurveda the “Science of Life” is a traditional healing system native to India. The very uniqueness of Ayurveda is that, it maintains the health of a healthy individual and cures the diseases of an unhealthy individual.
Kerala is the spiritual and historical home to Ayurveda, which in many ways is one of the original models for other contemporary medical system of the world. Although Ayurveda is growing popular as an adjunct to beach resorts and five star hotels throughout the world, the real Ayurveda is not simply a massage or Shirodhara in a resort Spa, but rather a serious medical practice that can resolve many ailments and is potentially effective for the management of conditions which are not even managed with modern medical treatments.
While oil massages, various body therapies and herbs used for healing and detoxifying can help towards achieving good health, they form only a part of this ancient Indian system of medicine. Ayurveda guides us to achieve a constant state of holistic wellbeing through a combination of appropriate diet, conscious eating habits, disciplined lifestyle, daily and seasonal regimen, herbal medicines and therapies. It also teaches us to harmonize our body and mind with Nature and the Pancha Mahabhuthas (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space), thereby eradicating the very roots of a disease and remain in a state of wellbeing throughout our life. The biological form of Pancha Mahbhuthas make up the three bio-regulating energies called Tridoshas in the human body – Vata (Air & Space), Pitta (Fire & water) and Kapha (Earth & Water). When these elements are balanced, one is healthy. Illness is defined as an imbalance of these three bio-energies.
With its therapeutic approach Ayurveda gets to the core of one’s personality, behaviour and lifestyle, and is more than a mere system for curing ailments; it charts out a complete lifestyle for disease-free living.

Basic Concepts of Ayurveda

The three biological pillars of Ayurveda are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. These bio-regulating energies originated from the Pancha Mahabhutas and are commonly called "Tridosha". Vata energy is produced by combination of "Akasha" (space) and "Vayu" (air) and in the human body it represents "Movement and Control", its property of initiating movements affect all parts of the body and is brought about through neuro-musculo-hormonal mechanisms. Smooth co-ordinated movements, blood and lymphatic circulation, breathing, functioning of central, autonomic and peripheral nervous systems are identified with functions of Vata. An abnormal Vata can lead to neuro-muscular disorders, circulatory and hormonal problems and accelerates degenerative changes in the body. Pitta energy is produced from “Tejas” (fire) and Jala (water) and constitutes the transformations and flow of energy within the body. Pitta controlled by Vata brings about the breakdown of food during digestion and assimilation within the body to provide the bio-energy required for the functioning of the human body. Various catabolic enzymes and hormone systems form part of this energy.
Abnormal Pitta can lead to digestive system disorders, skin problems, breakdowns and catabolic disorders. Kapha energy is formed from Prithvi (earth)and Jala (water) and constitutes the formation of solid and fluid constituents of various body elements such as cells, tissues, muscles etc. Kapha controlled by Vata induces growth, development and healing of tissues. Kapha energy also maintains fluid balance of the body, within the various organs and body spaces. Abnormal Kapha may lead to accumulative disorders leading to blockages, clot and tumour formation etc. Increased Kapha encourages and sustains infective processes. Vata, Pitta and Kapha within the body are nourished by the food we eat and they react to changes in environment and mental states. The optimum functioning of Vata, Pitta and Kapha bring about the formation of the seven Dhatus or vital tissues in the body, namely - Rasa (body fluids), Rakta (blood elements), Mamsa (Muscles, tendons etc.) Meda (adipose tissues), Asthi (bones), Majja (bone marrow) and Shukra (sperm, ovum, regenerative tissues). According to Ayurveda each Dhatu is formed from its preceding Dhatu. As a consequence of the food that we take into our bodies from the external world and the normal biological processes that take place internally, we generate different kinds of waste products, or Malas, which must be excreted. Aahara Malas or wastes from the food are Purisha (feces), Mutra (urine) and Sweda (sweat). Thus we see that the three Doshas, the seven Dhatus and the three Malas constitute the integral part of the living body, when they are in a balanced state, health reigns supreme in the body. When they are vitiated and imbalanced, disease and ageing process predominate.

Ayurveda weight reduction or weight management programs are designed to help you manage excess weight and keep your body and mind youthful. Obesity has become the epidemic of our time, the result of inappropriate diet that contain too much fats and sugars as well as an increasingly sedentary lifestyle that results in our bodies storing more calories rather than using them.

For people who suffer from weight management issues, the constant need to diet, the poor self-image, and the health problems associated with obesity, makes the need to manage their weight both important and challenging. We know that managing obesity is extremely hard because it requires you to both change physical habits as well as mental. We cannot simply resolve your problems in a few weeks, but we can start a journey that returns you to better health and eventually assist you in shedding a few kilos and sustain it. Our weight reduction program is designed to stimulate weight loss and recalibrate your body by correcting the improper fat metabolism or the Kapha imbalance.

It includes special treatments based on Panchakarma body purification, Udwartanam, Choorna Pinda Swedam, Dhanyamla Dhara, Virechanam, Vasthi, medicated steam bath etc and oral intake of herbal preparations.
You are obliged to understand about yourself, your imbalances and the need to address them through a balanced diet rather than a crash diet. You may also engage in light exercises which can be structured for you or you can simply follow some physical activities that you enjoy undertaking.
Underlying causes of obesity like PCOS, thyroid and other hormone imbalances, strong hereditary factors may affect the weight loss results; in which case the reduction in weight will be a slow process. We recommend that appropriate treatments for the above health issues should also be followed for optimum results.

Most common types of arthritis are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis, first one affects the cartilage of bones and later one affects the joints. Osteoarthritis is considered as the prevalent form of arthritis across the world. People who are suffering from either Osteo or Rheumatoid arthritis, have to come across this situation due to old age to be more prominent, degeneration where the fluids inside our body becomes dry, due to increased toxins thus leading to swelling, inflammation and stiffness.

The Skin Care Program addresses most of the skin ailments as it cures the root cause of the problem and not by giving relief to the symptoms. Skin, the most perceptible and prodigious external organ of human body extends its root deep inside the body by layering into six ostensible levels. As the skin is extended to the depth, so are its diseases which are deep seated and expand to the deeper tissues, fat, muscles and even blood. Improper diet and wrong lifestyle, hormonal imbalance and stress can be cited as the reason for various skin problems like psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, acne, vitiligo and many others. Ancient therapeutic cure along with internal herbal medicines will be administered after considering your body type and the nature of skin problems.

The Beauty Care Program includes herbal oil massage, herbal steam bath, face packs, body scrubs, body wraps, hair care, eye care and related healthy treatment to the body.
